Malleswaram is one of Bengaluru's oldest and most charming residential areas, established in the late 19th century. Known for its tree-canopied streets, Brahmanical heritage, traditional eateries, and the famous 8th Cross shopping street, it offers an authentic slice of old-world Bengaluru.

History

Developed in 1898 as part of a planned expansion of Bengaluru, Malleswaram was designed for the city's traditional Brahmin community. It retains its cultural character with Sanskrit schools, temples, and century-old shops lining its orderly grid of streets.
