The Yamuna Bank Viewpoint is a free, open-access stretch of riverbank directly behind the Taj Mahal, offering unobstructed views of the monument's northern facade. It is one of the few places to photograph the Taj from across the river without an entry fee.
The Yamuna riverbank has been central to Agra's identity since Mughal times, when the emperor's charbagh gardens extended along both banks. The river's course has shifted considerably, exposing more of the northern bank.
