Overview

A large urban park on the site of Emperor Xuanzong's Xingqing Palace, the centre of Tang-dynasty cultural life. A free public park beloved by locals.

History

Xingqing Palace was built in 714 CE as the principal Tang court where Emperor Xuanzong celebrated with poet Li Bai. The park was reconstructed in 1958.
