Ping An Finance Centre

Overview

The Ping An Finance Centre is a 599-metre supertall skyscraper in Futian District, making it the fourth-tallest building in the world. Completed in 2017 and designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox, the tower serves as the headquarters of Ping An Insurance and features a public observation deck called "Free Sky" on the 116th floor.

History

Construction began in 2010 as part of Shenzhen's ambition to become a global financial centre. The original design included a 60-metre antenna that would have made it taller than Shanghai Tower, but it was removed due to aviation regulations. The building was topped out in 2015 and fully opened in 2017.

• Best Time: Visit on a clear day for maximum visibility; hazy days reduce the view significantly.
• Sunset Slot: Book the late-afternoon time slot (16:00–18:00) to see both daylight and nighttime cityscapes.
