Wangjiang Pavilion is a four-story wooden tower in Wangjianglou Park, offering elevated views over the Jin River and Chengdu's eastern skyline. Built in honor of Tang dynasty poetess Xue Tao, it stands among a forest of 200+ bamboo species.
The original pavilion was built during the Qing dynasty (1886) to commemorate Xue Tao (768–831 AD), one of the Four Great Female Poets of the Tang dynasty. The tower was positioned to gaze over the river she immortalized in her verses.
