Richard Wagner Museum

Overview

Occupies the lakeside villa at Tribschen where Wagner lived 1866–1872, composing Die Meistersinger, Siegfried, and much of Götterdämmerung.

History

Wagner fled here from creditors. Nietzsche visited; Wagner married Cosima von Bülow here. Museum since 1933.
