Optus Stadium

Overview

Optus Stadium (Perth Stadium) is a 60,000-seat multi-purpose venue on the Burswood Peninsula, opened in 2018. Designed by Hassell, Cox, and HKS, it hosts AFL football, cricket internationals, and major concerts along the swan River.

History

Built to replace the ageing Subiaco Oval for AFL and the WACA as the primary cricket ground, Optus Stadium opened on 21 January 2018. It cost $1.8 billion and was named the world's most beautiful sporting venue by the Prix Versailles in 2019.
