Hillarys Boat Harbour is a coastal marina precinct about 25 km north of Perth CBD, combining a working boat harbour with restaurants, shops, a beach, and departure points for whale-watching and Rottnest Island ferries.
Developed in the early 1980s as a recreational boat harbour, Hillarys has evolved into a popular family destination. It is named after the suburb of Hillarys, itself named after the Hillarys boat harbour project — one of WA's first planned coastal marina developments.
