Overview
The Sentiero degli Dei is one of Italy's most spectacular coastal hikes, a roughly 7.8 km trail running along the mountain ridge between Bomerano and Nocelle at 500 metres above sea level.
Highlights
- Dramatic cliff-edge path: the trail runs along sheer limestone cliffs high above the sea.
- Views of Capri and Li Galli: the Sirenuse archipelago and Capri are visible on clear days.
- Wild Mediterranean landscape: macchia scrub, rock arches, and ancient terracing.
History
The trail follows paths used by shepherds and farmers for centuries. Its name references the legend that Greek gods walked this route to save Odysseus from the Sirens on the Li Galli islands below.
Visitor Tips
- Direction: walk west-to-east (Bomerano to Nocelle) for the best views and a net descent.
