Victoria Baths

Overview

Victoria Baths is a stunning Edwardian swimming pool complex in Longsight that was voted the nation's favourite building in the BBC's Restoration programme. Though no longer a working pool, it operates as a heritage venue and event space.

History

Opened in 1906, the baths were described as a 'water palace of which any city in the world might be proud.' They closed in 1993 due to budget cuts and have been community-run and undergoing gradual restoration since 2003.
