Puente de María Cristina is the most ornamental of San Sebastián's four Urumea bridges, a wide bridge flanked by four tall obelisks and bronze sculptures. It connects the old town area with the Gros neighbourhood.
Designed by José Eugenio Rivera and completed in 1905, the bridge replaced an earlier wooden structure. It is named after Queen Regent María Cristina, whose patronage transformed San Sebastián into a fashionable resort.
