The San Sebastián International Film Festival (SSIFF / Zinemaldia) is one of the oldest and most prestigious film festivals in the world, held annually in September. The Kursaal serves as its main venue, but screenings spread across multiple city theatres.
Founded in 1953, the SSIFF grew from a local event into one of only 15 FIAPF-accredited A-list festivals globally, alongside Cannes, Venice, and Berlin. It has showcased premieres by Alfred Hitchcock, Woody Allen, and Pedro Almodóvar.
