Parc de la Mar is a landscaped waterfront park directly below the towering walls of the cathedral and the Almudaina Palace. Its shallow artificial lake creates iconic reflections of the monuments above, making it one of the most photographed spots in Palma.
Before the park was created in 1984, this area was open sea — the city walls sat directly above the water. Land reclamation and the construction of the coast road created the space, which was developed into a public park with landscaping by Elías Torres and Martínez Lapeña.
