Plaza de la Constitución is the historic heart of Málaga, a broad square surrounded by buildings from the 15th to 19th centuries. It serves as the meeting point of the old town's main pedestrian arteries and hosts civic events year-round.
The square has been Málaga's civic centre since the 15th century, hosting the city council and public assemblies. It was renamed multiple times — for Fernando VII, for the Republic, for José Antonio — before settling on its current constitutional name.
