Mirador de Gibralfaro

Overview

The Mirador de Gibralfaro is a free public viewpoint at the summit of Monte Gibralfaro, offering 360-degree panoramas encompassing the bullring, the port, the cathedral, the city grid, and on clear days, the mountains of Morocco across the Strait.

History

The viewpoint sits beside the 14th-century Gibralfaro Castle and has been a landmark lookout since Phoenician times, when a lighthouse stood on the hilltop.

• Bring water: No shade on the final approach.
