Overview
Slavín is a monumental memorial and military cemetery on one of the highest points in Bratislava. The 39-metre obelisk topped by a bronze Soviet soldier commands sweeping views over the city and is one of the largest war memorials in Central Europe.

History
The memorial was unveiled in 1960 to honour Soviet soldiers who fell during the liberation of Bratislava in April 1945. It was designed by architect Ján Svetlík and sculptor Alexander Trizuljak.

- Walk Up: The uphill walk from the old town through the embassy district takes about 25 minutes.
- Sunset: One of the best sunset viewpoints in the city.
