Zeleni Venac is a bustling open-air farmers' market in the heart of Belgrade, where vendors sell fresh produce, cheeses, smoked meats, and homemade ajvar. It provides a genuine slice of everyday Belgrade life, far from tourist-oriented streets.
The market has operated on this site since the 19th century. Its name, meaning 'green wreath,' refers to the floral garlands once sold here. The current covered structure dates to the post-World War II reconstruction but the chaotic, open-air atmosphere persists.
