The Museum of Yugoslavia documents the history, culture, and legacy of the former Yugoslav state through over 200,000 objects. The complex consists of three buildings in the leafy Dedinje neighborhood, surrounded by landscaped grounds that once served as Tito's residential compound.
The museum was originally called the Memorial Centre Josip Broz Tito, founded in 1962 during his lifetime. After the dissolution of Yugoslavia, it was renamed and reframed as a venue for critical examination of the Yugoslav era rather than hagiography.
