Košutnjak is Belgrade's largest forest park, covering over 330 hectares of oak and beech woodland southwest of the city center. It's the preferred destination for joggers, mountain bikers, and families seeking true greenery within the city limits.
The park takes its name from the Serbian word for doe ('košuta'), reflecting its historical use as a royal hunting ground. Prince Miloš Obrenović established it as a protected forest in the 1830s, and it has remained a public park ever since.
