Gardoš Tower (also known as the Tower of Sibinjanin Janko or the Millennium Tower) stands atop the highest point in Zemun, offering 360-degree views of the Danube, Sava, Belgrade Fortress, and the Pannonian plain stretching north toward Hungary.
The tower was built in 1896 by the Austro-Hungarian Empire to celebrate the millennium of Hungarian settlement in the Pannonian Basin. It was named after the legendary medieval knight Janos Hunyadi (Sibinjanin Janko in Serbian epic poetry), who died in Zemun in 1456.
