Nordnes Park

Overview

Nordnes Park occupies the western tip of the Nordnes peninsula, offering grassy lawns, waterfront paths, and wide views across the Byfjord to the islands beyond. In summer, the adjacent Nordnes Sjøbad outdoor saltwater pool is a popular local swimming spot.

History

The area was historically a military installation protecting the harbour entrance. After decommissioning, it was converted to a public park in the late 19th century. The outdoor pool was built in 1934.
