The rooftop of the Depot Boijmans Van Beuningen offers one of Rotterdam's best panoramic viewpoints, set atop the mirrored, bowl-shaped art storage building. A public garden with birch trees crowns the 35-metre structure.
Highlights
- 360° Views: Panoramic outlook over Museumpark, the Euromast, Erasmus Bridge, and the city skyline.
- Rooftop Forest: A grove of birch trees creates an unexpected green oasis in the sky.
- Reflective Façade: Looking down from the rooftop edge, the mirrored building surface creates striking visual effects.
History
Completed as part of MVRDV's Depot design in 2021, the rooftop was always intended to be a public space. The birch forest and restaurant complement the art-focused mission of the building below.
