Corso Italia is Genoa's elegant 2.5 km seafront promenade stretching from the centre to Boccadasse. Lined with Art Nouveau villas and Liberty-style buildings, it offers expansive views of the Ligurian Sea and is the city's favourite spot for Sunday strolls, jogging, and sunset watching.
The seafront road was laid out in the early 20th century as part of Genoa's eastward expansion. It became the fashionable promenade for the city's bourgeoisie, who built elegant seaside villas along its length. It remains Genoa's most popular recreational walk.
