The Bigo is a panoramic lift at Porto Antico inspired by the port cranes (bighi) that once loaded cargo ships. Designed by Renzo Piano, it slowly rotates as it ascends to 40 metres, offering 360-degree views over the harbour, Old Town rooftops, surrounding hills, and the open sea.
Designed by Renzo Piano as part of the 1992 Expo redevelopment. The lift's tensile structure echoes the harbour cranes that were a defining feature of Genoa's working port for centuries. It has operated continuously since the Expo's opening.
