Sustipan is a peaceful park on a small peninsula at Split's western harbour entrance, combining an old cemetery, a Benedictine monastery ruin, and panoramic sunset views. It's one of Split's most contemplative and least-visited green spaces.
The name derives from Saint Stephen (Sveti Stipan), to whom the Benedictine monastery was dedicated. The monks were established here by the 11th century. The cemetery was added in the 19th century when the monastery grounds were converted into a park.
