Strossmayer Park is a small, leafy urban park just north of Diocletian's Palace, providing a shaded resting point between the palace area and the Varoš neighborhood. A quiet contrast to the bustling Old Town streets.
The park was laid out in the late 19th century as part of the Austro-Hungarian era urban improvements and named after Bishop Josip Juraj Strossmayer, a patron of Croatian cultural institutions.
