Amoudi Bay is a tiny fishing harbor nestled at the base of Oia's cliffs, reached by descending approximately 300 steps from the village above. The bay's crystal-clear waters, colorful fishing boats, and handful of waterfront tavernas create an intimate, authentic counterpoint to the polished tourist scene above.
Amoudi has been Oia's fishing port for centuries, and several families still maintain their fishing boats here. The small Chapel of Agios Nikolaos (patron saint of sailors) sits at the water's edge. The harbor was historically the main embarkation point for boats heading to Thirassia and served as Oia's commercial port before modern roads connected the village to Athinios.
