The Standseilbahn (Funicular Railway) connects the Elbe riverside at Loschwitz with the Weißer Hirsch hilltop district, climbing 95 meters in elevation over a 547-meter track. Built in 1895, it is one of Dresden's most charming heritage transport experiences.
Opened in 1895 to connect the Elbe-side railway station with the fashionable hilltop spa resort of Weißer Hirsch. Electrified early on, it has been in near-continuous operation for 130+ years.
