The Fürstenzug (Procession of Princes) is a 102-meter-long mural on the outer wall of the Stallhof (Royal Stables), depicting 35 margraves, electors, dukes, and kings of the House of Wettin who ruled Saxony from 1127 to 1904.
Originally painted as a sgraffito artwork in 1876 by Wilhelm Walther for the 800th anniversary of the Wettin dynasty, it was transferred to porcelain tiles between 1904 and 1907 to prevent weather damage. Remarkably, it survived the 1945 bombing almost intact.
