The Deutsches Hygiene-Museum is a science museum focused on the human body, health, and society. Founded in 1912 after the International Hygiene Exhibition, it is known for its thought-provoking exhibitions that bridge science, culture, and art.
Founded by industrialist Karl August Lingner (inventor of Odol mouthwash) to promote public health education. The current Bauhaus-influenced building was designed by Wilhelm Kreis and completed in 1930. It was heavily damaged in 1945 and reconstructed by 1970, with a major renovation in 2001–05.
