Overview

Stiegl-Brauwelt is the visitor centre of Stiegl, Austria's largest private brewery and Salzburg's hometown beer since 1492. The museum traces 500+ years of brewing history through interactive exhibits, historic brewery equipment, and guided tastings.

History

Stiegl was founded in 1492, making it one of the oldest breweries in Austria. The name comes from the steep steps (Stiegl) leading to the original brewery. The Brauwelt visitor centre opened in 2010.

• Take bus line 1 from the Altstadt (15 min).
