Overview
Dragon Bridge (Zmajski most) is an Art Nouveau bridge guarded by four imposing copper dragon statues, completed in 1901. It was one of the first reinforced-concrete bridges in Europe and has become Ljubljana's most recognizable symbol.

History
Built in 1901 to replace an earlier wooden bridge, Dragon Bridge was originally named the Jubilee Bridge of Emperor Franz Joseph. The dragon motif draws on the Ljubljana legend of Jason slaying a dragon in the marshes.
