The Cathedral of St. Nicholas is Ljubljana's principal church, a Baroque masterpiece built between 1701 and 1706 by Andrea Pozzo. Its twin bell towers and green copper dome are landmarks of the skyline.
A Romanesque church stood on the site from the 13th century. The current Baroque structure was designed by the Roman Jesuit architect Andrea Pozzo and completed in 1706. Its dome was added in 1841.
