The Rautenstrauch-Joest Museum, Cologne's ethnological museum, takes visitors on an immersive journey through the cultures of Asia, Africa, Oceania, and the Americas. Its award-winning exhibition design uses thematic rooms rather than geographical divisions.
Founded in 1901 with the collections of Wilhelm Joest and funded by Adele Rautenstrauch. The museum moved into its current building at Cäcilienstraße in 2010, designed by Schneider + Sendelbach.
