The Victoria & Alfred Waterfront is South Africa's most-visited destination, attracting over 24 million visitors annually. Set in the oldest working harbour in the Southern Hemisphere, it blends retail, dining, entertainment, and maritime heritage.
The harbour was named after Queen Victoria and her son Prince Alfred, who ceremonially tipped the first load of stone for the breakwater in 1860. The Waterfront redevelopment began in 1988, transforming derelict docks into a world-class mixed-use destination.
