Long Biên Bridge is a historic cantilever bridge spanning the Red River, completed in 1903 by the French. Bombed repeatedly during the Vietnam War, its patched structure symbolises Hanoi's resilience.
At 1,682 metres, it was Indochina's longest bridge when completed in 1903. US forces bombed it multiple times during the Vietnam War, but it was always repaired.
