Stardome Observatory and Planetarium sits in the One Tree Hill Domain and offers planetarium shows, interactive exhibits, and telescope viewing of the southern skies. It is Auckland's primary public astronomy facility.

History
The original observatory was built in 1967 and has been upgraded several times, most recently with a state-of-the-art digital planetarium dome. The Stardome connects modern astronomy with mātauranga Māori (traditional Māori knowledge of the stars).
Visitor Tips
- Duration: 1–1.5 hours including a planetarium show.
- Night sessions: Friday and Saturday evening telescope viewing sessions are popular — book ahead.
