The Bali Botanic Garden (Kebun Raya Eka Karya Bali) is a 157-hectare tropical garden in the central highlands near Bedugul, at 1,250 meters elevation. It houses over 2,000 species of tropical plants, including an orchid collection of 500+ species.
Established in 1959 as a branch of the Bogor Botanical Gardens, the garden was created for conservation and research of eastern Indonesian flora. It has grown to become one of Southeast Asia's most important botanical institutions.
