Avenue of Stars

Overview

The Avenue of Stars is a waterfront promenade along the Tsim Sha Tsui harbourfront celebrating Hong Kong's century-old film industry. Reopened in 2019 after a major redesign by architect James Corner.

Highlights

• Bruce Lee Statue: The 2.5-metre bronze martial arts icon is the promenade's most photographed feature.
• Handprint Plaques: Over 100 celebrity handprints set into the waterfront railings.
• Symphony of Lights: The promenade is the prime viewing spot for the nightly 8 PM light show.

History

Originally opened in 2004 and modelled on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, it was redesigned by James Corner, who also designed New York's High Line.

Visitor Tips

• Best time: Arrive by 7:30 PM for the Symphony of Lights at 8 PM.
• Combine with: Clock Tower, Star Ferry.
• Duration: 20–40 minutes.
