Overview
The Mirador de San Cristóbal offers views over the western Albaicín, the Puerta de Elvira, and the broad Vega plain stretching toward the mountains. A section of the old Zirid walls runs alongside the viewpoint.
Highlights
- City Walls: Remains of the 11th-century Zirid walls are visible right at the mirador.
- Western Panorama: Views toward the mountains and the agricultural plain — a different perspective from the Alhambra-facing miradores.
- Quiet Spot: Far fewer tourists than San Nicolás.
History
The adjacent church of San Cristóbal was built in the 1500s. The Zirid walls date from the 11th century when the Albaicín was a fortified hilltop town.
