History
Founded in 1957, the museum has painstakingly dismantled, transported, and reassembled 74 historic buildings from every region of Estonia. Each structure was chosen to represent a specific era and social class, from wealthy manor farms to humble fishermen's cottages.
Visitor Tips
- Duration: Allow 2–4 hours, more if you enjoy wandering.
- Getting there: Bus No. 21 from the city centre (about 25 minutes).
- Season: Best visited May–September when all buildings are open and craft demonstrations run daily.
