Yaletown is a compact, upscale neighbourhood on the north shore of False Creek, occupying converted warehouse buildings from Vancouver's former rail yard. Its heritage brick-paved loading docks are now restaurant patios, giving the district a distinctive character.
Built as the western terminus of the Canadian Pacific Railway in the 1880s. After Expo 86 catalysed False Creek's redevelopment, heritage warehouse conversions and highrise towers transformed the area into one of North America's densest, most walkable neighbourhoods.
