Overview
The Grouse Grind is a 2.9-kilometre hiking trail ascending 853 metres up Grouse Mountain. Known as "Mother Nature's Stairmaster," its 2,830 natural staircase steps make it one of the most popular and punishing urban hikes in North America.
Highlights
- The Challenge: Most hikers complete it in 60–90 minutes; the record stands at 23 minutes and 48 seconds.
- Forest Immersion: Dense coastal rainforest with massive old-growth Douglas fir and western red cedar.
- Summit Reward: Grouse Mountain's summit facilities—restaurants, wildlife exhibits, and panoramic views.
