Overview
Rozenhoedkaai (Quay of the Rosary) is the single most photographed spot in Bruges. From this canal-side promontory, the view encompasses the Belfry tower framed by medieval buildings, their reflections shimmering in the water of the Dijver canal.
Highlights
- Iconic view: The classic Bruges postcard shot — the Belfry rising above stepped gables reflected in the canal.
- Canal boat embarkation: Several of the canal boat tour departure points are located here.
- Evening atmosphere: String lights and the illuminated Belfry make this magical after dark.
History
The quay takes its name from the rosary sellers who once traded here. In medieval times, this was a busy commercial wharf where goods were loaded and unloaded from barges.
Visitor Tips
