The Kantcentrum (Lace Centre) celebrates Bruges' centuries-old bobbin-lace tradition with demonstrations by lace makers, a permanent collection of historic lace garments, and hands-on workshops for beginners.
Bruges was Europe's leading lace-production centre from the 16th to 19th centuries, employing thousands of women. The Kantcentrum was established to preserve this endangered craft and opened in its current Sint-Anna quarter location.
