Overview
Eureka Skydeck occupies the 88th floor of the Eureka Tower, offering 360-degree views from 285 metres above Melbourne. It is the highest public vantage point in the Southern Hemisphere.
Highlights
- The Edge: A glass cube that slides out from the building's edge, suspending you 300 metres above the street with nothing but glass between you and the ground.
- Panoramic Views: On clear days, visibility extends to the Dandenong Ranges, Port Phillip Bay, and the You Yangs.
- Sunset Sessions: The west-facing views make Eureka Skydeck ideal for watching the sun set over the bay and the city's skyline light up.
History
Eureka Tower opened in 2006, designed by Fender Katsalidis Architects. Its gold-plated crown references the Eureka Stockade of 1854 — Australia's most significant armed rebellion during the gold rush. The Skydeck opened as a public observation deck shortly after.
