Overview
The Presidio is a 600-hectare former military post turned national park site at the northern tip of San Francisco. It features forests, coastal bluffs, historic buildings, and stunning views of the Golden Gate Bridge from multiple angles.

History
Established as a Spanish military fort in 1776, it served as a military post under Spain, Mexico, and the United States for 218 consecutive years until 1994. The Presidio Trust now manages it as a self-sustaining national park site.
