Overview
Raohe Street Night Market is a 600-meter single-street market near Songshan Station, considered by many locals to be Taipei's best night market for authentic Taiwanese street food.
Highlights
- Black Pepper Buns: The legendary Fuzhou pepper buns at the market entrance — crispy clay-oven baked buns filled with seasoned pork — draw lines of 30+ people nightly.
- Medicinal Stew Ribs: Rich herbal pork rib soup served from enormous steaming cauldrons.
- Songshan Ciyou Temple: The ornate Mazu temple at the market entrance provides a dramatic traditional backdrop.
History
Established in 1987, Raohe is one of Taipei's oldest organized night markets. Unlike the sprawling Shilin market, its compact single-street layout makes it easy to navigate and ensures higher food quality concentration.
