Overview

Royal City Avenue (RCA) is a 400-metre entertainment strip in the Huai Khwang district, home to some of Bangkok's biggest nightclubs, live music venues, and beer gardens. It draws predominantly Thai university students and young professionals.

History

RCA was developed in the late 1990s as a purpose-built entertainment zone east of the city centre. It quickly became Bangkok's primary clubbing district for the Thai crowd.

• Weekend nights: Friday and Saturday are by far the busiest — arrive before midnight to avoid queues.
