Overview
Benjakitti Park is a modern urban park in the Khlong Toei district, expanded in 2022 with elevated skywalks over wetlands and a large lake. It connects to Lumpini Park via a green corridor, creating Bangkok's largest continuous green space.
Highlights
- Elevated Skywalk: A 1.8-kilometre raised walkway passes through treetops and over wetland gardens.
- Lake Jogging Track: A scenic 1.3-kilometre loop around the lake is popular with runners.
- Wetland Garden: Native aquatic plants attract birds and create a surprisingly wild feel amid the skyscrapers.
History
The park sits on the former grounds of the Thailand Tobacco Monopoly. Phase 1 opened in 2004; the major expansion adding the skywalk and wetlands opened in 2022.
